Grafton Scout Group

Wow the year that 2014 was,

Wow, hasnt this year gone past fast…. the Cubs started off with going on an adventure to Cataract near Appin/Camden to Cuboree for a week.

We all certainly had fun.

We have also had sleepovers at the scout hall, had 2 Cubs complete their Grey Wolf badge by taking us on a hike each up near Brooms Head.

We participted in JOTT (Jamboree of the Trail), Jota/Joti (Jamboree of the Air/Interenet).

We had a great region camp at Glenreagh called Thrills and Skills, kid even earnt their Canoeing badge at that one. woohoo.

We also participated as part of the 'Thier Service our Heritage" badgework in doing ANZAC DAY, VIETNAM VETERANS DAY kids did Rememberance Day at thier respective schools, a leader went to the Service held at South Grafton Cenotaph. the scout section even hosted a Memorial for the 13 Cubs who drowned in the river 71 years ago.

We have had 4 cubs link up to scouts over the year, one linked up to cubs from joeys, and lots of new ones joined.

So many things to remember, Culture on the Clarence Festival, Jacaranda Thursday , Jacaranda Float Parade, group Christmas party, Leaders even held two days at Shoppingworld to help promote the group as well (thanks to the kids who came from all sections to help on those days as well).

Looking at Next years calander…. we are going to have a busy year again… looks like a camp is going to happen every term, plus an extra one for the special needs as well at Mt Kiera.

Hope that you all have a great and happy and Merry Christmas and New Year.

See you all back at cubs on MONDAY THE 2ND Feb. 2015
